Abstract

In the mult-party period, religion began to enter the social and public sphere, and politcians seeking legitmacy in public have used religious references. Religion in politcs has existed both in one and separate lines with conservatsm since the 1970s. Along with the mult-party period, the electorate-politcian profle influenced by the center-periphery, modernist and Islamist approaches has determined Turkey's sociology of religion and politcs.
