Abstract

It is seen that both in social sciences and theology human behaviours have critcal importance. However while social sciences and especially behavioral sciences are looking for the psychological and social reasons under lying behaviour; theology takes acts into consideraton both in terms of secular and otherworldly results, tries to harden between the endless and limitless will of God and religious and ethical responsibility of man. While behavioral sciences have a descriptve character, the normatve side of theology predominates. Determinismvoluntarism dichotomy about human behaviours has caused theoretc polarizatons both in social sciences and theology. It can be easily concluded that in social sciences, the perceptve of positvist-naturalist social science is in the determinist camp; the perceptve of interpretve- constructonist which has raised as a reacton to the aforementoned perspectve is in the voluntarist camp. There are important differences between the imaginaton of religious behaviour of social sciences and theology. While theology puts emphasis on that God intervenes the world with revelaton and providence and that everything has occured with His creaton; social sciences generally explain religious and all social events as a humane or natural phenomenon. At the same tme becuase the constructonist ecole gives some chance for personal interpretatons about the world, it harmanoizes with religious believes beter than naturalist theory which sets a strict cause and effect relatons between social context and religious content.
