Abstract
In this study, the ideas of
Abdullah Cevdet on religion and his understanding of religion will be put forward.
Understanding of religion of Abdullah Cevdet, one of the leading characters of
pozitvist paradigm, influenced the ideas of Turkish intellectuals on religion in
the following era. Moreover, it is stl possible to seem the effects nowadays. In
this respect, we have the opinion that handling the ideas of Abdullah Cevdet on
religion descriptvely will be benefcial to value the understanding of religion
these days. From this point of view, we realized this study.
