Abstract

Abstract

The industrial revolution that emerged in the 18th century is a process of change that has shown its effect in different areas in every region of the world, especially in Europe. The most obvious area where the effect of this revolution is observed is undoubtedly the changes in the sociological order, which manifests itself in the socio-economic dimension. The habits of individuals in their daily lives have changed, new work areas have emerged and technological developments have become a part of life. These developments, of course, brought with them some difficulties and created situations that would put individuals at risk in daily life.
Written by Lee B. Clarke as “Technological Risks and Society”, this study touches upon the issues that pose risks to society in the technological field after the industrial revolution. Technological developments that pose a risk to the society and the reflections of these developments in macro and micro fields are explained and these situations are supported with concrete examples.
