Abstract
Türkiye, cumhuriyetin kuruluşundan beri gerek Osmanlı’dan gelen, gerekse özellikle aydınların dini olgulara ve problemlere hatalı yaklaşımlarından kaynaklanan bir dizi problemle karşı karşıyadır. Bu problemlerin en önemlisi de din alanında ortaya çıkmaktadır. Din alanında yaşadığımız bu problemler, özellikle kentlerde daha da karmaşık bir hale gelmektedir. Bu makalede, öncelikle söz konusu problemlerin tarihsel ve toplumsal arka planına ilişkin bir çerçeve sunulacak, ardından sosyal yapı içinde dini hayatın farklı görünümlerine de- ğinilecektir. Bu kapsamda kır-kent dindarlığı topolojisi bağlamında incelenmesi gerekmektedir. Sonuç olarak, kır-kent farklılığı, özellikle kentli göçmenlerin kimlik arayışları üzerinde etkili bir değişken olarak görünmektedir. Makale, Türkiye’nin incelenen konu bağlamındaki sorunlarına ilişkin tespit ve önerilerle sonuçlandırılmaktadır.

Abstract
This study partcularly surveys the trends which Islam follows in the big cites. It is emphasized that the Islam our naton practce is dominated by politcal and historical, socio-cultural, socio-economical and psychological factors. Problems stemming from history are proving complexity and difculty for they have not been addressed throughout history properly. Thus the gap between the individual and state and also the distance between the state and religion, the unique need of human being, is growing. The narrowing of this gap as quickly as possible is closely associated with the diagnosis of the problems and the solutons to be applied. I, as a sociologist of religion, tried to diagnose the problem and also propose the measures to be taken.
