Abstract
Bu çalışmada öncelikle, kamusal alan kavramının aslının ne olduğu anlaşılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla, ilkçağlardan itibaren kavramın geçirdiği sosyolojik anlam değişiklikleri ele alınmıştır ve kamusal alan kavramının, modern dönemde aldı- ğı sosyolojik anlam boyutunda yoğunlaşılmıştır. Modern kamusal alanın dinle olan ilişkisi özellikle irdelenmiştir. Modern kamusal alanın dönüşümüyle ortaya çıkan durumu, bu süreçte dinin rolünün ne olduğu sorgulanmıştır. Türkiye’de özerk kamusal alanların oluşumunda, dinin ve dini grupların çok büyük pay sahibi olduğunu tespit edilmiştir. Bu süreci, ekonomik, kültürel, basın yayın, sivil toplum gibi birçok alandan örneklerle anlamaya çalışmak mümkündür. Ancak ekonomi alanı İslami kimliğin yansıtılarak özerk kamuların oluşturulduğu bütün diğer alanlar için temel olma özelliği taşımaktadır. Bu önem nedeniyle ekonomi alanından örneklem olarak, tartışmalı bir alan olan bankacılık sektörü seçilmiştir. Bankacılık sektörü dini değerler etrafında oluşturulması en zor olan alanlardan biridir. Bu nedenle İslami ilkelerle kurulduğunu iddia eden bir finans kurumunun Konya’daki beş şubesinde, yönetici, personel ve müşteri bazında hazırlanan sorularla derinlemesine mülakatlar yapılmıştır. Bununla bankanın dini değerler ve dini kimliğin yansıdığı özerk bir bankacılık alanı oluşturup oluş- turmadığı anlaşılmaya çalışılmıştır

Abstract
In this study, frstly, tried to be understood what the concept of the public sphere is. For this purpose, sociological meaning changes which the concept has undergone since the frst centuries were discussed and focused on the dimension of sociological meaning of the concept of the public sphere in the modern era. The relatonship of modern public sphere between religion was specifcally examined. The case resultng from the transformaton of the modern public sphere and what the role of the religion in this process were questoned. It has been identfed that religion and religious groups have a very large share in the formaton of autonomous public spheres in Turkey. It is possible to try to understand this process from the examples in many areas such as economic, cultural, media, sivil society. But, the economy era has the characteristc of foundaton for all other felds in which autonomous publics are formed by reflectng the Islamic identty. Because of this importance, as a sample from the area of economy, the banking sector which is a controversial area was selected.The banking sector is one of the most difcult areas which can be formed around religious values.Therefore, depth interviews were conducted with prepared questons based the manager, staff and customer in fve branches of a fnancial insttuton in Konya claiming established with the Islamic principles. It has been tried to understand whether the bank can form an autonomous banking era reflected religious values and religious identty.
