Obedience is a term frequently used in the Quran. Of the ones expected to pledge obedience to are the God and His prophet. When examining the Islamic Traditon, we confront that the obedience directed towards both the God and His prophet has been virtually dealt with intensively, in the same manner. Thus, it has been purported that Quran and the traditons of Mohammed are in the same level in terms of being regarded as evidental. The fact that the practces of Mohammed (sunnah) should be regarded as a work of revelaton bases the foundatons of these approaches. Instead of being driven by the theoretcal aspect, namely Quran, the practces of the prophet Mohammed have been moved into the theoretcal realms. Here it has been made clear that the role of the prophet as a messenger has not been understood well enough. It is also a widely accepted fact that politcs has always been effectve in the formaton of religious understanding so as to positon itself on a sound ground. In the realizaton process of this motve, the effectve power of the sayings of Mohammed, rather than the verses in Quran, has been implemented.
