Abstract

Sosyoloji, Gökalp'in çabalarıyla üniversite programı üzerinden Türk eğitim sistemine girmiş ve kısa sürede öğretmen yetiştirme programlarında yer almıştır. Bu gelişmeyi, ortaöğretim programlarında yer bulması takip etmiştir. Başlangıçtan itibaren Türk sosyolojisinin, pozitivist, devletçi, batıcı, milliyetçi, siyasetle yakın ilişki içinde bulunması, özgünlüğünü kazanmasına engel olmuştur. Bunların sonucu olarak, aktarmacılık, bağımlılık, biyografik çalışmaların yetersizliği, ilgisizlik gibi sorunlar yüzünden eğitim programlarında hak ettiği yeri bulamamıştır.

Abstract

Sociology is a new discipline created by the problems of the modern age. It has emerged because of scientific studies on the industrial revolution and major social changes. Pioneers like Durkheim and Marx who systematized Saint Simon's and Comte's positivist views were influential in this acceptance. Max Weber, who opposes the positivist mentality, is another pioneer of sociology. The main purpose of the study is to introduce the development and institutionalization process of Turkish sociology and to emphasize the importance of sociology teaching, which does not have the weight it deserves in educational programs. In this study, is evaluated the emergence of sociology as a science and development process in Turkey. For this purpose, the establishment process, institutionalization, and schooling of sociology has been examined, and its periodic development in the education system has been followed. The roots of Turkish sociology go back to the historical background of Westernization efforts. Studies on society continued until the end of the 19th century can be regarded as the development and formation period of Turkish sociology. This development period, which spread over a long period, started to gain a scientific ground at the beginning of the 20th century. Gökalp, one of the founders, followed Comte's Durkheimian approach, while the other name, Prince Sabahattin, followed Comte's Le Play interpretation. For this reason, Turkish sociology, which was founded on a positivist basis at the beginning, preserves this feature to a great extent. Sociology has entered the Turkish education system through the university program by the efforts of Gökalp and took part in teacher training programs in a short time. This development was followed by its inclusion in secondary education programs. Since the beginning, the fact that Turkish sociology is positivist, centralist-statist, westernist, nationalist and close relations with politics has prevented it from gaining its originality. As a result of these, it could not find its rightful place in educational programs due to problems such as transmission, addiction, insufficiency of biographical studies, and indifference.
