Abstract

Abstract

It is one of the important research subjects to consider a set of religious action and rituals with a meaning of pyschological war or propaganda in a sociological viewpoint. When all of the religious symbols and rituals are considered from this perspective, it attracts the attention that they include many spiritual, mysterious and nonverbal messages that they desire to give to the society except from these symbols and rituals. In this context, the implementations such as making a fire, saying Allahuekber, getting benefit from poets are some of them that Muhammad used during wars in order to frighten and settle the enemies hash. Such kind of actions are associated with weakening the enemies’ resolve and demoralizing them to wage war as the enemies are frightened in a pyschological war logic. Furthermore, the performance of five-time, Friday salaats and salaat al eid in Islam with the community has also meaning such as looking crowded, strong and stupendous against the enemies beside being a worship. On the other hand, this percept of seeming strong and magnificent in the hadj worship which is made with greater crowd of people reaches to the peak point. Since the actions in this worship turn into a universal show by gaining an international quality. Especially, it is understood that the symbolical statements and actions such as talbiyah, iztibah, remel, herwele, stoning the devil have a meaning of show/ vanity. Since Muhammad personelly made the iztibah and remel, herwele in sa’y in order to seem strong, stupendous, determined and decisive against the polytheists and he recommended them to his companions.
