Abstract
Bu makalede sosyolojinin en temel ve en kapsamlı kavramlarından biri olarak kabul edilen ‘cemaat’ kavramının ortaya çıkışı, teorik temelleri ve literatürdeki kullanılış biçimine işaret edilecektir. Bununla birlikte cemaat kavramının, toplumsal ilişkiler ağının saptanması ve doğru anlaşılması hususunda önemli bir sosyolojik işleve sahip olduğuna değinilecektir. Kavramın sosyolojik önemine işaret ettikten sonra Türkiye’de cemaat kavramının toplumsal karşılığının ne olduğu ve ne şekilde kullanıldığı ifade edilecektir. Ayrıca Türkiye’deki toplumsal ilişkileri doğru çözümleyebilmek için ‘cemaat’ kavramının anahtar niteliği taşı- dığına ve doğru anlaşılmasının gerekliliğine vurgu yapılacaktır

Abstract
This artcle is accepted as one of the most basic and most comprehensive concepts of sociology ‘community’ in the emergence of the concept, it will be pointed out in the literature on theoretcal foundatons and use format. However, the concept of communion, in the mater of identfying and accurate understanding of the social relatons network will be mentoned that an important sociological functon. Afer pointng to the concept of sociological importance, it will be expressed that what the social meaning of communion and how it can be used in this concept in Turkey. In additon, It will emphasize the necessity of correct understanding and carrying key atributes of the concept of ‘community’ in order to solve it correctly for social relatons in Turkey
