Two Words about the Creation of Heavens and Earth in the Qur'an

Abstract

Throughout the Qur’an, the creaton of the human being and the universe appears in different styles, shapes and expressions in different verses. In these different verses, words such as «bedea», «fetara», «halaka», not originally ordered in the classifcaton of the said verses, precede the expression « the creaton of heavens and earth ». This research, restricted on the verses mentoning the words «halaka/has created», «halk/creaton», «halekna/we have created», consists of frst a classifcaton and then an in-depth analysis. The expression « halaka/ has created » has been used in the Qur’an among others for heavens and earth. The verb « halaka/ has created » preceding the expression « heavens and earth » appears 33 tmes in the Qur’an in different verses on more or less distnct subjects/topics. The grouping in 5 specifc topics is noteworthy. Each of the words namely in Truth, in six days, to establish the 7 heavens, God’s creaton regularly used afer the expression «the creaton of heavens and earth» is a keyword for each group. The chronological order of the verses concerning the creaton period (six days) allows to stress its importance and its progressive development. Another miracle, prodigy of the Qur’an. The 5th group of the series using the expression « halaka » also concerns words related to creaton ( to set up, to establish) but focuses on the creatons between heavens and earth.In the texts, the difference between create and establish is noteworthy and clear. In this research, only the word «halaka» and the derived words used for heavens and earth are taken into consideraton. In additon to their defnitons and their use, an exceptonal consistency relates to these words
