On the Value of the Forgiveness

Abstract

The person can only reveal his or her being during the relatonship with other people. But in some cases, the relatons may be offending, deplorable, indelicate or even damaging. In a case the person may suffer from a partcular relaton and become sad, in another case he or she, willingly or unwillingly, give harm to the people in relaton. For these reasons, sometmes people need to beg pardon and sometmes forgive others. The person appeals for mercy in front of the God, the Creator, and in partcular situatons encountered, he or she may not assume the full responsibility and accuse the God. While the philosophy and the religion present forgiveness as a virtue and in relaton with morality, the psychology take the issue as a theropeutc factor within the framework of the phschologic well being and make research on the process of the forgiveness and the elements actve on the forgiveness. Establishing the relatonship between the religion and the forgiveness, we observe that the Abrahamic religions offer forgiveness as a virtue. Furthermore, the researches on the forgiveness and the religiousness prove a positve relatonship between sincere devoton and the forgiveness. The forgiveness in this artcle generally taken in the perspectve of the teology and psychology. Along with its being the meaning of a feature of personality, forgiveness is evaluated as an acton realized in different circumstances. The nature of the forgiveness, the process and the components affectng this process are also dealed in the artcle and my humble effort in this artcle is to present the relaton between the religion and the forgiveness.
