This paper problematzes the concept of social capital in the example of the Alevis of Tunceli, which increases solidarity among people, enables human relatonships to occur on a basis of trust, epitomized in the maxim “it does not mater what you know, but who you are familiar with” and evaluated by means of social interactons.
