Abstract

This study aims to evaluate to the role of the relatonship between an individual and God on that person’s psychological well-being from the perspectve of atachment theory. This study was conducted on 727 people, and an analysis of the results found that self-percepton functons as the frst predictor variable for psychological wellbeing. This study also found that a secure atachment to God and a positve God image and self-image correlated with positve psychological well-being, and conversely that an insecure atachment to God, death anxiety, having a relatonship with God, and submissive behaviors correlated with a negatve psychological well-being. Finally, this study found that secure and insecure atachment to God were undifferentated in terms of death anxiety, God image, relatonship with God, and religious practces.
