Abstract

Abstract

The changing conditions of today bring with it new challenges and challenges, as well as innovation and convenience. These difficulties and problems can sometimes be seen in a way that individuals can find solutions on their own, and sometimes they cannot be overcome and require psychological support. The expert support applied at this point may not create the desired effect due to various reasons (such as social acceptance, the individual's unintentional support). This challenging process can be seen at an early age, but it can get a little more complicated. One of the techniques used to help children get through this challenging process more easily is bibliotherapy. Although bibliotherapy has very different definitions; It can be defined as being influenced by the books that people have read and developing a solution for their own mental and behavioral problems, evaluating some of their behavioral attitudes and shaping them according to the book they read and providing behavior changes in problem behaviors (Marlowe & Maycook, 2000). In this study, the history of bibliotherapy technique, its aims, bibliotherapy process, usage areas of bibliotherapy and the features that should be present in the person applying the bibliotherapy technique are emphasized.
