Abstract

It has been observed for the last 5 years that increasing number of Middle Eastern Arabic tourists visiting the Topkapı Palace Harem Section in Istanbul. It is aimed in this study to test the hypothesis of “there is a direct positive effect of the collective nostalgia on tourism destination choice” since it is assumed for this research that there is a direct effect of the nostaljik emotions that are aroused on the Middle Eastern Arabic audience after watching the Turkish TV serial, Muhteşem Yüzyıl, on choosing Istanbul, which hosts the Harem that is most favoured part in the serial, as a tourism destination. Having derived the data using the observation method applied in the research, it is concluded that the hypothesis of “there is a direct positive effect of the collective nostalgic emotions on choosing tourism destination.” is valid.
